Initiated in 2010, this award aims at motivating the best 3 staff and encouraging the rest of the staff to improve on their performance. The event has also been created to spice the yearly Kumbo Council Staff Social which serves as an opportunity for staff, executive and their spouses to have communion with one another and exchange gifts. Kumbo Council has engaged in the celebration of mass civil marriages. So far, 84 mass civil marriages have been contracted, in two sessions. The initiative saw the light of day thanks to the joint efforts of the Women Empowerment Institute Cameroon; a Kumbo based nongovernmental organization, with some 5 female volunteers from France and U.S.A, and the Kumbo Council. The Strategic Goal One of the Kumbo Council Strategic Plan for the period 2009-2013 aims at improving the institutional capacity of Kumbo Council so as to facilitate service delivery to the population by 2013. For that purpose, Kumbo Council has embarked in a process called ´Strengthening of the Council´, with the help of a newly created TAP Committee (Transparency, Accountability and Participation) in the Council.

In order to have a clean and healthy environment for her inhabitants, Kumbo Council recently launched a serious campaign on waste collection around the second-hand goods section of the Kumbo Main Market.
For some years now, random disposal of waste in this area had formed a huge heap of solid and decomposed organic waste around the place, giving an ugly and unhealthy look.

MAYOR'S FOREIGN POLICIES

The Italian Ambassador to Cameroon, Antonio Bellavia, on his visit to the Cardiac Centre at St Elizabeth Hospital Shisong, Kumbo made a stopover at the Kumbo Council.

This was aimed looking for ways to further strengthen the already existing ties between the city of San Donato Milanese in Italy and Kumbo Municipality. The Kumbo Municipality was twinned with the City of San Donato in Milan Italy in 2005. In 2007, a different political party took over the affairs of the City of San Donato and consequently, there was a black-out in the communication links between San Donato and Kumbo.       Read more ...

 The Kumbo Council has its Ordinary Session devoted to the deliberation and adoption of the 2007 Administrative/Management Accounts and Stores Accounts. . Revenue for 2007 stood at 247.969.144frs, and expenditure stood at 242.183.811frs, all compatible in both the administrative and management accounts.
