Late Mr. Ntani Daniel later succeeded him as Mayor in 1991 and ruled the council till 1996 when the Social Democratic Front took over, and Mr. Njong Fonyuy Donatus was elected. He has been at the helm of the council from then till date. Kumbo Council was created in 1977 out of the defunct Nso Area Council, which was created from the South Western Federation, with headquarters in Ndop.
The Fon's Palace (Nto' Nso) - Seat of the Paramount Chief of the Nso people (Sehm Mbinglo I); this place is the heart of Kumbo social and cultural life. It is composed of several traditional buildings decorated with wood carvings, around 2 courtyards where the Fon uses to sit and receive his people or his advisers.

The Banso Baptist Hospital (BBH) is the first of 5 Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Board (CBCHB) Hospitals. Established in 1949 out of a government cottage hospital with 4 small buildings and 20 beds, BBH has grown to a current bed capacity of 250 with a staff strength of over 400.
Pioneering the Dairy Industry in Cameroon, the TDCS was founded on November 15th, 1990 by more than 200 pastoralists. It serves the whole of Cameroon; and Headquarters in Tadu - Kumbo in the North West Region.
